Do you have any of these borders?
Are these the stamped borders? I saw the border stamping machine in the Hamilton Museum. The machine itself is a work of art.
I have some beautiful wood that I am going to use for your big replacement letters. Full pattern cutting test tomorrow and then your characters are next.
The borders are scanned from a specimen of die stamped borders. I have nearly complete fonts (including corners) of No. 155 and No. 156 (shown on page 1 of the specimen book). The stamping machine is indeed a marvel. Have you met Paul Brown, from Indiana University, Bloomington? Paul believes he has figured out how to operate the stamper and plans to do some border stamping tests this summer. I’m excited about completing that 72 line font!
